Despite the popularity of the darned things (or maybe because of it), I think they are the ugliest looking thing I've seen since capris and cropped pants, "shrug" sweaters and those silly cropped jeans jackets....also jeans with holes and frays already installed by the manufacturer...black-haired women who have dyed their hair fuschia....tattoos....low-rise pants on people with protruding paunches...
Maybe I'm just getting old, but these shoes are unsightly and silly. Like sneakers, they will probably skyrocket in price and be tagged with ridiculous names to give them some semblance of class and desirability. Before you know it, they'll be marketed by the likes of Nike, Reebok, etc. and will sell for a price equally outrageous to the tags attached to their athletic shoes. And people will stupidly pay the price and the next thing you know, the new look will be these ugly shoes paired with an equally ugly (and overpriced) Coach bag!!! Ugh!+
